Grizzly Peak Brewing Company 8/6/04

Our first stop was Grizzly Peak Brewing Company.  We loved the old red brick building and they had an outdoor café. We went directly to the bar for a seat.  The bartender was very knowledgeable and she was friendly.  We ordered a sampler and looked over the menu.

Here’s the sampler we tasted – Victor’s Golden Ale, Grizzly Peak Pale Ale, Steelhead Red, Bear Paw Porter (the favorite of the day – got a growler), E.S.B., Super B, Country Cork Irish Stout, Juniper Pale Cask, Nitro Summer Ale, and EL Hefeweizen.

We also really liked the Steelhead Red, and the rest we rated around 2 stars.

Two blocks up the road on the other side of the street we found Arbor Brewing Company.  They also had an outdoor café, but, we should have walked over because we had to drive around the block to find a parking space.  Another nice old red brick building.  We sat at the bar and ordered a sampler and looked at a menu.

We tried the following beers in our sampler – Big Ben House Ale, Huxell Best Bitter, Red Snapper Special, Triple Stone Extra Special Bitter, Sacred Cow Cast Conditioned I.P.A., Bavarian Blitz Hefeweizen, No Parking Pilsner, Smoked Lager, Olde #22 German Alt, and Milestone Cask Porter.

We really liked the Red Snapper Special the most and ended up with a growler of it.  We didn’t care for the Hefeweizen or the Smoked Lager, but, the Milestone Cask Porter, and the Olde #22 were our next favorites, and the rest weren’t too bad either.

For a snack we ordered the roasted garlic.  The garlic was yummy and fresh on the bread they served it with.

The final destination brought us a couple miles down the road.  We arrived to find an old warehouse, very generic.  Had some couches and an outdoor patio.  Neat seating set up.

We then decided to look at a menu, we laughed -it was all cheese stuff. They had no Growlers available. At one time they had them and they were plain brown, nothing on it.  So I guess we missed nothing there.  Went ahead and got a sampler.  They also distill liquer here.

We tried the following beers in our sampler – Golden Lager, Pilsner, Hefeweizen, Red Lager, Porter.  The one we liked best was the Red Lager and they bottle, so we got a 6 pack  The rest were average at most.
