January 21, 2006 It was our friend Laura's birthday and we decided to come down and help her celebrate at her home in Livonia. We planned a route to visit C.J.'s on the way and Todd P.(the other Todd) and Laura met us there for lunch, since we had not eaten here before. Our last visit we bought Todd P. a growler for his birthday and reminded him to bring it for a re-fill. Of course beer was on our mind too and we had our new growler ready. We hoped the brown would be ready. We got there a few minutes before them and were glad to hear the Best Brown was on tap, since the last 2 times we were here they had run out. Cheryl rated the brown as a 4.5 and Todd a 4.25. Salome' waited on us again and we ordered a pint of the brown to split. After briefly looking at the menu Cheryl decided to have the Beer Onion Soup and Todd had the 3 Alarm Chili. We were too hungry to wait for Laura and Todd P. We both loved the soup, it is made with the Golden Lager, large onion slices, and homemade croutons, very yummy. Todd thought the chili was a 1 alarm, but still liked it. Cheryl gave the chili a 4, not bad. Once Todd P. and Laura arrived they ordered a sampler to try the beers. We have their ratings below along with some funny comments. Cheryl and Todd shared Blackened Voodoo Skins, (potato skins with blackened chicken, pepperjack cheese, scallions, and cajun ranch dressing) and The Big Slim (ham, swiss, bacon, grilled french bread, and big slim sauce). We both liked the sandwich, and the potato skins were real good. We had our growler filled with the Best Brown. Todd P filled his growler with the Amber.
